A Few Random Pictures

Do you think she likes her?

Proud big brothers

Sweet baby girl...she checked out just perfect at the doctor today. Perfect coloring (no jaundice) & the little piggy has even surpassed her birth weight already!

One week post-baby...I much prefer this type of baby bump!

The Day Lucy Was Born

The day started unlike any other. We went into the hospital at midnight for our scheduled induction. Thankfully Carrie and I (but most thankfully Carrie) got a few hours of shut eye through the night as the drugs went to work. Then came noon. Carrie kept her spirits high while hooked up to monitors all day...
Then came 2:00 p.m. Still no baby. But at least there were cheesy sayings on the walls...
Then Carrie demanded an epidural...
Grammie was there for support...
Then...finally...after about 15.5 hours in the hospital...baby Lucy made an appearance...
I cut the cord...
We were happy...
Lucy cried...
Grammie cried...
We stared and cried some more...
Carrie looked amazing after just giving birth...
The kids came to get a look...they were pretty excited...
Alex gave her a kiss...
 Ellie gave her a kiss...

Then it was Maguire's turn...
Then they each got to hold their new baby sister...
Then we attempted to pose for a full family pic. This was the best out of a dozen...
And now we're a family of six. Wow. Thanks for all of the prayers and the well wishes!

Final Baby Update: 38 Weeks

We'll keep it short & sweet this week -- baby's eviction notice has been served and she will be vacating the premises on or before Tuesday, May 10th. We are scheduled to report to the hospital at midnight on Monday night for an induction. At my 38 week appointment on Wednesday, baby was growing great (estimated weight of 7 lbs 4 oz) and I am still doing fine. But gestational diabetes brings a few potential complications like premature deterioration of the placenta, so the doctor wants to err on the side of caution and get this baby delivered. So, unless I get it together to post about the girls' room re-decoration before Tuesday, you probably won't hear from us again until we're announcing the arrival of baby #4!

Star in the Making

A little video of Ellie & her dance class practicing their big number for their recital. Sorry it's only from the back -- parents can't stand at the front of the classroom. We'll be sure to post the real thing after the recital on the 31st.
