Movin' On Up

Does it make us bad parents that upon entering the kitchen and seeing Alex scaling the stove, both Chris' and my first impulse was not to grab the endangered child, but "Quick, get the camera!" Not to fear, the stove was not on at the time.

And once he'd reached his perch, he had no absolutely idea how to get down. So while he furiously clung to the oven door like a little monkey, we just kept snapping pictures... We are terrible, terrible parents.

If All Else Fails, Tickle A Baby

With Chris being gone all week long at work, getting the house ready to list, non-existent naps due to all the racket from the roofing contractors, life is a bit crazier than normal around here.

Sometimes all you can do is laugh.

And then go back to cleaning some more.

Please excuse the camera work in Maguire's video -- it's hard work shooting and tickling at the same time!

These Boots Were Made For Walkin'

It was a balmy 50 degrees today here in the delightful state of South Dakota, so we decided to take advantage of the weather and head out for a walk. Ellie has jumped into this moving to cowgirl country thing with both feet, and opted for her always stylin' irridescent pink cowboy boots.

So we hit the streets to let the breeze ruffle our somewhat sparse hair.

The boys were pretty into the whole walk thing -- cheers for fresh air without 57 layers of clothing!

"Back off, Alex. It's my turn to sit in the front of the stroller."

Luckily they made up after the minor squabble concerning seat arrangements. I promise you, they rode like this for at least a block. It could be that I am far too accustomed to the toy-stealing and whacking each other with miscellaneous objects, but it was quite possibly the most precious thing I've ever seen.
